It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our friend, Jack Linton, of Reading, PA, a longtime member of the SBCA Board of Directors and our first PAC President. Jack passed away on February 5th, 2020 surrounded by friends and family. He was a partner and co-founder of Linton & Distacio LLP, which thrived in Reading for more than 50 years.

Jack received his J.D. and a LL.M. from New York University. He served as a member of the Board of the Small Business Council of America for at least 20 years and served as the President of the SBCA PAC for many years. He was a delegate to the White House Conference on Small Business, where he served as the Co-Chair of the Eastern Pennsylvania Delegation’s Tax Committee. He also served as a Board Member and the Historian of The Group, Inc., a select study group for attorneys and other professionals who specialize in closely held businesses. He was a dedicated member of significant community and political efforts in the Reading Area, including serving multiple terms as the City Solicitor of Reading, working as a committee member of the Berks County Chamber of Commerce, and serving as a Board member for both the Exeter and Governor Mifflin School Districts.

Jack’s warmth and sincerity will be greatly missed by his many friends at the SBCA. The Linton family will be hosting a celebration of life service for Jack at The Reading Public Museum Planetarium Building (500 Museum Road, Reading, PA) on March 28th, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Contributions in honor of Jack may be made to Exeter Community Education Foundation at www.exetereducationfoundation.org or by calling directly at (610) 898-9579.
